History

Once Upon a time...

As is so often the case, the history of the Jeremias Group began with the discovery of a lucrative market niche in the daily work environment. Master chimney sweep Walter Engelhardt recognized over the years a steady increase in chimneys in need of renovation and founded a company for chimney renovation together with Johann Melzner in 1970.

Building on his father's idea, Stefan Engelhardt produced the required stainless steel exhaust pipes himself with Jeremias GmbH, which was founded in 1984. In doing so, he laid the foundation for rapid company development and the successful expansion of business areas and sales regions.

In order to be able to meet the growing demand in the industrial chimney sector as well, another company specializing in the design, production and assembly of steel chimneys, Engelhardt GmbH Stahlschornsteine (SES), was founded at the Wassertrüdingen site in 1992.

After the opening of further international production and sales branches and the merger of Jeremias and SES in 2016, today's Jeremias Abgastechnik GmbH is one of the world's leading manufacturers of chimney and exhaust systems and is actively working on further expanding its market position as a customer-oriented company with innovative and high-quality product solutions.

Cooperation without borders – Jeremias international

Since the founding of the company, the philosophy of the Jeremias Group has been characterized by a strong and cautious idea of expansion.

In the first few years, the group grew step by step and over time built up an international sales network. With the locations, the number of employees in the group also increased. In 2013, the Jeremias Group already had over 1,000 employees. Today we have 1400 colleagues around the world. 

With numerous production sites, branches and numerous sales partners worldwide, we can guarantee our customers optimal service and permanent availability regardless of location.
